The Bad News is time flies. The good news is you’re the pilot

                  ~Michael Altshuler.

2020 is here!

 How time flies!

We can’t keep time from flying but we can use it to grow and become better.

One good thing about life is we have the power of choice. We can choose the direction of our lives.

A dear friend asked me recently what is my vision for the coming year.

I told him I wanted to be on International Televisions and start consulting for world leaders. Then he asked another probing question: what are your strategies?

I understand strategies are the vehicle of transformation. Hope is never a strategy. "I hope things get better" is a language of a loser.

In this article, I shared on 20 strategies to transform 2020. Are you ready?

1. Reinvent Yourself.
You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.
                                          ~Buckminster fuller.

When I let go of what I’m, I become what I might be. "
                                              ~Lao Tzu.
Your life is not cast on stone. You can practically transform your life.
You can learn new skills, change your line of business, and develop a different pleasing personality altogether.

One of my goals for 2020 is to write Novels. I know this is not the area of my strength, but I am willing to learn the tricks. By the way, my short story, "Incredible!" made it to Amazon Best-seller list In some categories. With the chance [Covid-19] has forced on the world, see-reinventing is the way go!

In 2020, announce to friends and colleagues that your latest version is available, and  they need to upgrade if they still want you within their "Ecosystem."
2. Associate With Brighter People

Surround Yourself with people who are going to lift you higher.
                                           ~Oprah Winfrey.

One of the best experiences I had in 2019 was the meeting of smart, brave, purpose-driven, and highly intelligent people.

They helped me to become a better version of me.

If things will change, you need to hang around people who see farther than you can see and dream bigger than you dream.

Use technology to connect with influencers in your field. Winners hang around winners. Losers hang around losers.

 3. Blow the cap off your capability.

No limits: blow the cap off your capacity.
                       ~John C. Maxwell.

By the way, that is the title of John C. Maxwell’s newest book. Many people place a limit on their ability.

We set a mental limitation on our capacity. It’s like having a car with 5 gears, and you never use the 4th and the 5th gears.

Resolve to switch to the 5th gear of your ability in 2020.

Let go of your fears, dare the devil, press the envelope and do what you thought you could never do!

One of the things I teach in my Power Seminar®, is how to tell yourself EMPOWERING STORIES. Tell yourself what you can do not what you can’t do.

4. Challenge Yourself With Bigger Goals

Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into visible.
                               ~Tony Robbins.

Don’t limit your Challenges, challenge your limits.
                                 ~Jerry Dunn.
The bigger your goals, the bigger you go.
You will grow to meet your goals.

Refuse to set goals that don’t tap into your true potentials. I want to write 20 books in 2020.

I want to be on International Televisions in 2020. I want to transform a million lives in 2020…

What goals do you have for 2020? Are they challenging enough?

Someone once said, "Big goals attract big people, and big people solve big problems, but small goals attract small people and small people create big problems."

Let your goals be BAGs!  Big- Audacious-Goals.
5. Establish Balance.

Balance is not something you achieve "Someday".
                          ~Nick Vujicic.
As you set goals for the 2020, create a balance within your goals.

Goals that focus exclusively on making money without taking into cognizance your health, family, friends, spiritual development etc. will leave your life out of balance.
Don’t be a man who spent all his time to make money for his family only to come home and found there was no more family!

Strike a balance between work and family.

At the end, the most important things in life don’t cost money.

6. Think creatively.

To raise new questions, New possibilities, to regard old problems from a new angle, requires creative imagination and marks real advance in science. Creativity is intelligence having fun.
                               ~Albert Einstein.

It was Albert Einstein who said, "One of the definitions of insanity is to keep doing the same thing and expect a different result"

Successful people don’t necessarily do different things, they do things DIFFERENTLY.

Create new routes, challenge accepted norms, query what has worked in the past. Don’t wait until it breaks before you fix it.

In my Executive Business Retreat®, one of the concepts I teach is Lateral Thinking (the act of using the illogical tactics to accomplish incredible results).

You may want to send me a mail at [email protected] to know when the 2020 edition is coming up.

Creativity will help you outdo, outsmart and outperform yourself!

7. Eliminate Drama.

Just because some people are fueled by drama, don’t mean you have to attend the performance.
                           ~Cheryl Richardson.
Save your energy only for what is important to your goals.

If you want to travel far, you need to travel light.

Reduce tension by maintaining a distance from people who derive their joy by making others sad.

If someone steps on your toes, don’t create a scene, just remove your toe from under his feet! In other words, don’t sweat small stuff!

8. Leverage on technology

It’s supposed to be automatic, but actually you have to push this button.
                                         ~John Brunner.
In my seminar, I talk about the fact that it’s not enough to know where you are going, it’s equally important to determine how fast you want to get there.

Technology will help you get there fast! You can reach millions of people by the tap of a finger now! Thanks to technology.

Even if you are not a tech savvy, you can outsource your ignorance to thousands of online freelancers available today.

9.Outsource Your Weaknesses

Master your strengths. Outsource Your Weaknesses.
                        ~ Ryan Kahn.

One of the things successful people do is to focus on what they are good at.

Don’t dissipate your energy by working on your weaknesses.

Work on your strength. Focus on what you are very good at and outsource/delegate your weaknesses.

Instead of spending your time to bring your weaknesses from 5% to 15%, use that time to bring your strength from 75% to 90%.

Give your best to your best.

10. Invest In Yourself Daily.

"Income seldom exceeds personal development."

                            ~ Jim Rohn.
Personal development is a major time- saver. The better you become, the less time it takes you to achieve your goals.
                                    ~Brian Tracy.

Warren buffet, Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos and other billionaires today still take personal development very seriously. They read daily.

Invest in books, listen to Audio, subscribe to podcasts, attend seminars. Never go to bed without becoming a little better than you woke up.

If you want to increase your earning, increase your learning.

11. Prioritize Your Priorities.

Two things are important in life: Purpose and Priority.
                         ~Myles Munroe.

With thousands of things competing for our limited time, we must be deliberate in the way we use our time.

We don’t have time to do everything,  we only have time to do what is important.

Priority is the key to productivity.

Identify your key Results Areas and give your valuable time to it.

In 2020, separate activities from productivity.

Successful people focus only on what give them highest return on their investment of money and time.

12. Take Massive Action.

Begin to free yourself at once by doing all that is possible with the means you have, and as you proceed in this spirit the way will open for you to do more.
                             ~Robert Collier.

I heard Bob Proctor say, "Don’t ask what you can do, act and you will find out what you can do."

Successful people never wait for perfect time before they begin. They start with what is available.

 Produce… Launch…Update…Upgrade!

Keep moving and things will start happening!

Stop all your excuses and put yourself and your dreams before the world.

"Beginning, is half-done" said Robert Schuller.

13 Believe It’s Possible.

You can be anything you want to be, if you only believe with sufficient conviction and act in accordance with your faith: for whatever the mind can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve.
                              ~Napoleon Hill.

Have a big dream and believe that’s possible.

That is how men do the impossible. There is power in believing!

Faith turns impossibilities to probabilities and probabilities to possibilities.

Believe, and you will achieve. Believers are achievers!

Act like a man of faith, think possibility and silence that little fear! Even when you are scared, jump scared!

14. Give Attention To Your Intention.

Whenever you want to achieve something, keep your eyes open, concentrate and make sure you know exactly what it is you want. No one can hit their target with their eyes closed.
                                                 ~Paolo Coelho.

Remind yourself of your goals.

Focus your attention on your intentions. Go around with the list of your goals wherever you go.

Place your goals on your fridge, in your bathroom and everywhere you can easily see it.

Rehearse the achievements of those goals in your mind. Feel as though they are already achieved.

And you will be inspired and motivated to take necessary steps to their actualization.

15. Start Every day With a Bang!

Make each day your masterpiece.
                 ~ John Wooden.

Wake up every day like a champion! Seize the day!

Move away from waiting for miracles to happen, make miracles happen every day!

Saturate your mind with  mental nutrients when you wake up!

Listen to inspiring music, read or listen to messages that position you for success and excellence for the day!

Choose to have a great day every day!

16. Live Responsibly

A hero is someone who recognizes responsibility that comes with his freedom.
                          ~Bob Dylan.

You have control over your choice but not over its consequences.

Early in life I learned charisma can take you to the top but character will keep you there.

Take care of your character and your reputation will take care of itself.

Never do or say things your grandson will be unproud of.
Live Responsibly!
17. Ask for help.

You have got to ask. Asking is, in my opinion, the world’s most powerful and neglected secret to success and happiness.
                                 ~Percy Ross.
Admit you are limited in some ways.

You need help!

It’s normal to need help and to ask for it. You don’t need to do it alone.

Successful people are willing to ask for help! In my book, "It’s In You" I devoted a whole chapter to asking for help!

Never be ashamed to let people know what you need.

When you are rejected, don’t internalize it, move to the next person!

However, when you ask, never bring your problems to people, bring your projects. People don’t help problems. They help projects!

18. Maximize Your Influence.

Leadership is not about titles, positions or flowcharts. It’s about one life influencing another.
                               ~John C. Maxwell.
Reach out! Touch lives! If your life is wrapped up around yourself only, you will make a small package. ,

Think about what you can do to help people around you. Make impact in your organization and your community. Be a people plus!

"you can get anything in life if you help enough people to get what they need" Zig Ziglar.

19. Listen More, speak less

If you make listening and observation your occupation, you will gain much more than you can by talk.
                               ~Robert Baden-Powell
When you speak, you tell people what you know but when you listen, you learn what you don’t know.

Effective communication is not you doing all the speaking. It’s listening.

Use every opportunity to learn and become better and smarter. Listen, observe and document!
20. Pray!

I know that when I pray, something wonderful happens. Not just to the person or persons for whom I’m praying, but also something wonderful happens to me…

                          ~Maya Angelou
Sometimes, even best strategy fails!

Prayer is connecting your impotence to his omnipotence.

It’s connecting your science to his omniscience. And connecting your presence to his omnipresence.

Prayer is the original wireless connection, the oldest technology on earth.
Successful people pray.

They ask God for help! When you don’t know where else to look in 2020, look UP!

These are my 20 strategies for the year 2020, they will work beyond covid-19. What strategies are you implementing for the year?
