Can You Write A Book in One Hour?

How To Write A Book In One How

When I read a book, I see its Author- Duyilemi A. Felix.

My intention in this article is very simple: to make you an author. If you have ever wanted to write a book, here is a huge opportunity for you!

Don’t think you have to write several pages to become an author. In fact, you don’t even need a publisher to publish this book. You don’t need an editor to edit it. You are the writer, the publisher, the editor and the marketer of this book. It’s your book.  It’s your life book. Just write the way you like. Write it with freedom. It’s your book. It’s your story.

Let me endeavor to give you the outline for your book. Let it contain:

 A Vision Statement.

A mission statement.

A life Value Statement.

This book will become like a personal map of your life, a blueprint of some sort. The Title of this book is your name. Yes, your name.

A vision statement is a statement of your purpose in life. It should involve “what” you are created to do “how” you will do it and “where” you are created to do it. The “what” tells you the purpose, the “how” answers what channel? And the “where” defines the scope. Your vision statement should not be more than two sentences at most. It should be easy to read at a glance.

Example: Chris Lofton is a blessing to the people of Africa through medical breakthroughs that increase the lifespan of Africans to the glory of God.

The purpose:  To increase the lifespan of Africans.

The Channel:  Through medical breakthroughs or discoveries

The Scope: The continent of Africa.

The mission statement is the present tense description of the activities you undertake to accomplish your mission. Your mission statement describes what you do with your vision statement.  Your mission statement should be more elaborate;

Example, using the example of Chris Lofton’s vision statement above: I am Chris Lofton, a medical doctor; I am a specialist in neuro-surgery with several medical discoveries that have increased the lifespan of Africans by 40%. Several lives have been impacted and blessed through my skills to which I feel deeply grateful to God.

The mission statement evokes feelings; more detailed and described activities in the present tense form. That is how you should write your mission statement. This will give you the positive feelings that your vision statement is already accomplished. It’s not a description of uncertainty, but of certainty!

Your Value Statement, your personal book should also have a description of value statement. Values are what we hold dear in life. They define us. They establish our boundaries. They raise our standards. The Bible is an important book where we should get our values in life. Values like integrity, loyalty, respect for authority, punctuality, honesty, respect for spouse, fidelity and so on, are ingredients of a well lived life. I will encourage you to make your value statement descriptive. If you pick a certain quality as value, write a brief description as to why you consider that value important to you. I will show you that in my own personal book.

HERE IS MY OWN LITTLE BOOK( I only share it with people like you!)

My Purpose: To be a blessing to the world.

My Channels: Through my ministries, books, public appearances, Radio and Television programs etc.

My Scope: The whole world (Don’t tell me that is not possible!)

My Mission Statement: Duyilemi Akindele Felix  is a successful father and husband, an international acclaimed minister of God, a best-selling Author and Adviser to heads of nations around the world. He’s the Pastor of the life-changing church, Christ Classic International Ministries, with networks of ministries around the world. His life and messages have directly affected over 3 billion people around the world! He’s indeed a colossal inspiration to the world to the glory of God.

My Value Statement:

My governing values are influenced by the Bible, here are they:

1.I AM ALWAYS POSITIVE: I always stay positive irrespective of my present situation because God’s word says “All things work together for the good of them that love God and are called according to His purpose.” I therefore remain positive in all situations knowing that I will come out at the other end with testimonies.

2.I AM ALWAYS STRIVING TO DO THE WILL OF GOD. I know that God is pleased when I do His will. I know that God’s will is best for me.

3.I WALK IN INTEGRITY. Integrity defines the quality of life. I therefore walk in integrity before God and men. I say what I meant and I meant what I say. Bible says of David that he “Shepherd with the integrity of heart and skillfulness of hands”

4.I AM A GIVER. The Bible says, “It’s better to give than to receive” I therefore endeavor to give at all times. I am constantly thinking of ways to help people around me.

5.I VALUE PEOPLE. If people are important to God, they are to me.  I therefore value people irrespective of their social statuses. I value my team and associates, listening to their opinions, praise their efforts and reward their performances.

6.I AM A GREAT HUSBAND. The Bible enjoins husbands to love their wives. I give myself selflessly to my wife, endeavor to protect her, care for her, listen to her, love her, and speak the truth to her in love.

7.I AM A GREAT FATHER. The Bible says that God chose Abraham because He knew he would lead his children in the way of the Lord. I am a role model to the children God has given me. I will protect them, provide for them and guide them in the way of the Lord.

8.I AM A LEARNER. The Bible says I should study to show myself approved unto God. I am consistently and continuously giving myself to study, improving myself on daily basis and taking courses to better my life.

9.I AM A SERVANT LEADER. Jesus said “He that will be great among you must be your servant.” I know that the pathway to a great leadership is through service. I therefore lead as a servant not as boss to the people God has given me the privilege to lead.

10.I VALUE TIME. Time is non-renewable resource, therefore, I will make the most of my time, prioritize first thing first, set goals and achieve them and use time to fulfill my God’s given purpose on earth.

11.I RESPECT MY PARENTS. I am giving back to my parents the love, care, protection and opportunities I have enjoyed through them. The Bible says when we honour our parents; we will live long on earth.

12.I AM DILLIGENT. I am applying myself to my calling, ensuring to make my calling and election sure. The Bible says, “If a man is diligent, he will stand before kings”

13.I AM DISCIPLINED. Like Paul, “I take authority over my body, so that after I have helped others, I myself will not be cast away.” I do things when I am supposed to do them not when I feel like doing them.

This is my little book. You don’t have to follow my life. Remember this book is unique to me. It is my dream book. It’s my assignment book. It’s my life book. This is my ideal life. I am not there yet, but this provides a blueprint for my life.

I will be waiting to read your book! Please email it to me via [email protected].

10 PRINCIPLES OF HIGH FLYING ACHIEVERS. IF YOU LEARN THEM, YOU CAN BE ONE!

10 Principles of A High Flying Achiever

Anyone wants to be an achiever. Desire to be great is inborn in all of us. If you are reading this now, my instinct tells me that you desire to live beyond ordinary. I am pleased to tell you that your desire is noble and honorable. But desire alone is not enough. A story is told about a young man with a tremendous passion to be an achiever in life. He wanted to make his mark. So he decided to visit a man who the whole community recognized as a genius-a man with a wealth of experiences.

“What brings you to me?” the elderly man asked

“I want to become successful; I desire to be an achiever” Replied the young man

The old man smile and said, “That is very simple, all you need to do is to find out what successful people do, and replicate in your own life”

My assignment in this article is to help you organize a set of principles of high flying achievers; your assignment is to replicate it in your life.  The principles are as follows:

1. Know what you want.

This is the simplest but most powerful of all principles of high flying achievers, knowing what you want in life. You can’t go south travelling through North. You must be able to specify what you really want to do, be and have in life. Your vision is your picture of your future. Remember if you don’t have dreams, there will be no dreams to fulfill. James Allen strongly advised:

“Dream lofty dreams, and as you dream, so shall you become. Your vision is the promise of what you shall one day be; your Ideal is the prophecy of what you shall at last unveil.”

2. Know what you don’t Want.

Just as important as stating what you want out of life, you must be able to also know what you don’t want in life. Why? Because, life has no predetermined value on you except the once you either consciously or unconsciously place on yourself. You should be able to state what YOU WILL NOT ACCEPT IN LIFE NO MATTER THE CONDITION.

Jessie B. Rittenhouse writes:

“I bargained with Life for a penny, And Life would pay no more, however I begged at evening when I counted my scanty store.

“For Life is a just employer; He gives you what you ask, but once you have set the wages, why, you must bear the task.

“I worked for a menial’s hire, only to learn, dismayed, that any wage I had asked of Life, Life would have paid.”

3. Make Your Passion Your Work.

Job becomes fun when you are working on what you have passion for. Look around you the people who are truly fulfilled in life are people who have made their passion their job. Zig Ziglar Coaches, John.C Maxwell trains, Anthony Robbins motivates, Shakespeare writes, Messi plays football, Tiger wood plays golf…Success becomes fun when passion romances with work. When you find your passion, you won’t look for job.

4. Set Goals with  Deadline.

Goals determine how far you go. Human beings are goal seeking organism. We are built to function at our best when we have goals we are pursuing.  It is not good enough to say I want to become successful. In what? Where? When? Goals are not goals without a deadline.  It’s been said that “success is goals, and all else is commentary.”

5. Think Big.

What a man can conceive, he can achieve. So don’t place a limit on whom or what you can be by your thoughts. The limit to what you can achieve in life is limitless. So don’t play it small. Let your imagination roam wild. Let your imagination take you around the world. “Remember that the only limit to your capabilities is the one you place upon them. There is no law of limitation” Said Robert Collier.

6. Talk Big.

Your mouth rules your world. Whatever that is not bigger than your mouth is not bigger than your life. Words are capital. Start talking big; talk your way to stardom. People will gauge you by the strength of your words. I am not saying you should be proud or arrogant, the point I am making is to make your words consistent with the future you desire. E. W Kenyon noted: Your life rises or falls to the level of your confession.

7. Act Big

It is not enough to think or talk big; you must also begin to act big. Let your action be consistent with the picture of the future you have seen about yourself. For instance if you intend to become the President of your Country, start talking and acting like a President. If you intend to become a billionaire, start acting like one. Remember one of the ancient principles of success is “be-ing should precedes do-ing’. From today, irrespective of what you are, how you look, where you are coming from, starting acting your future not your past.

8. Welcome Feedback.

Feedback is a response that put us on the line in our journey to greatness. High achievers solicit for feedback,  honour and respect it. Don’t fight feedback; be humble so you don’t stumble.

9. Respect Your Words.

That is another way of defining integrity. Honesty is still the best policy. Make your words your boundary. Honour agreements. Be known as a straight forward person. Respect commitment. Remember the words of Marcus Antonius, “ Truth is always strong, no matter how weak it looks and falsehood is always weak no matter how strong it looks.”

10. Build Your Life around God.

It’s only a fool who thinks he doesn’t need the assistance of God, don’t be one. Let God help you. There is a reference in the Bible that states “In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path” God is the highest achiever, it’s wisdom if you make Him your intimate friend!

I hope these principles help you become a high flying achiever in your generation.

Turn Your  Passion To Your Vocation

Duyilemi Akindele Felix|Author|Coach|Consultant

Your Success is where your passion lies

Duyilemi A. Felix

What is your passion? Is it a passion to?

-Write?

-Sing?

-travel?

-teach?

-compose?

-organize?

-plan?

-create?

-smile?

-research?

-help?

-counsel ?

Work becomes fun when you are working on what you are passionate about.

Look around you the people who are truly fulfilled in life are people who have made their passion their career.

Brian Tracy Coaches, John.C Maxwell trains, Anthony Robbins motivates, Shakespeare writes, Messi plays football, Tiger wood plays golf…and the list goes on.

Success becomes fun when passion romances with work. When you find your passion, you won’t look for a job again.

You don’t have to abandon your passion for the lifestyle you want. The truth is, your passion will create the lifestyle you want! If your passion is writing, then write. If it’s singing, sing. Whatever your passion is, that is where your blessing is.

“Your passion contains the seed to your greatness”

A man once said, when you find your vocation, you have found your vacation. When you are doing what you are passionate about you have found what really make life rewarding and fulfilling.

Your passion contains the seed to your greatness. People like Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Larry Page, Donald Trump and others are really into the business they are passionate about. They do what they love and get paid doing it. The money they have is a token of reward for working on their passion.

Recently I was invited to speak at a business summit and I really enjoyed myself delivering my speech, it was awesome. When I was paid at the end of the program, I was almost tempted to ask, "for what?" It was then it dawned on me that I was really paid for enjoying myself while sharing my passion with others.

Right now, whatever your passion is you can really be fulfilled, even financially, doing it.

Many people make the mistake of abandoning their passion so that they can make a living, what they fail to realize is that making a living should be a by-product of pursuing their passion.

If you are in a dreary job that wears you out physically, emotionally and spiritually just because you have bills to pay, you can’t really enjoy life. If you have to wake up every Monday with a frown face and wait until Friday to say TGIF (Thank God it’s Friday), you are in a wrong job!

When you are doing what you are passionate about, you will wake up every day saying TGIT( Thank God it’s Today!). That is how to really live life maximally.

You can make a business out of your passion no matter what it’s. If you like to read for instance, can you make money out of that? Decidedly yes!

You can share what you read in books, organize seminar, create a blog, edit books and even become a consultant.

If you like sports you could become a sportswriter or photographer, work in sports management. You could become a sport analyst, a coach, a manager or a team publicist.

Today you can make a living from making people laugh, dance, sing, write, design, talk or from just anything!

You don’t have to endure life, you can enjoy it.

The best way to do that is to find what you like and build a business around it. If you like sitting at home, that is not bad, don’t worry about people leaving their homes early. Just think of what you can do from home. There is a popular blogger in Nigeria who makes lot of money from home. You can turn your passion to a business.

Think of what you can do with your passion first, the money will follow if you become good at it.

Let’s Talk: Why do you think many people don’t pursue their passion? Leave your opinion in the comment box. Thank you.

Destiny on Dr. Duyilemi Felix's blog

‘There are two greatest days in a man’s life, the day he was born and the day he discovers  why. Anonymous

I heard a story of a man who was 73years when asked by a reporter how old he was, to which the man replied, “I’m three years old’ the reporter  protested ‘ that can’t be true’ the elderly man replied Chronologically, I am 73years old, but it was 3years ago I discovered the reason I was born. That is the reason I said, ‘I am 3-year-old. I have wasted 70years!’

G

od puts you here for a reason. You are destined for a destiny. You are assigned to an assignment. God has a purpose in mind while creating you. You are not a purposeless entity!  There is a REASON for you. There is a reason you look the way you look. There is a reason you talk the way you talk. There is a reason you act the way you act.

You are customized and wired with peculiarity to fit in into God’s given destiny. You are not a mishap. You are not an accidental occurrence! God planned your life in advance. He selected your colour, your race, your background, your experiences to align you with your destiny.  You are programmed for a purpose!

·A fish is designed to swim.

·A bird is designed to fly.

·A clock is designed to measure time.

·You are designed for a destiny.

                                                    What is destiny?

Destiny can be defined as God’s intended meaning for a specific life. The purpose for a product is the product’s destiny. Put specifically, your destiny is your life assignment. It’s the reason you were born. It’s what you were born to do. Put generally, it’s the lives you were born to touch. The books you were born to write. The songs you were born to sing. The products you were born to invent. The discoveries you were born to make. The problems you were born to solve. The sayings you were born to make. The paradigms you were born to shift.

That is why, you are uniquely unique.  You are differently different. In the word of the Old Testament Author, King David “You are fearfully and wonderfully made.” You have no duplicate. You are similarly different from everybody alive. Your kind has never been. They will never be. When God finished creating you He threw the mold away. That is why nobody has your exact finger prints.

God gives you talents, potentials, gifts, passions as tools to accomplish your destiny on earth.

                                       Four Levels of Destiny’s Awareness

There are four categories of men living on the surface of the earth. No matter where you go, you will find this category of men, whether in London, Japan, India, Canada or Nigeria where I live. These kinds of men will be found within the four levels of destiny awareness I classify below:

Unconscious Unawareness Level: This is the level when a person is unconsciously unaware of his life purpose. This person goes through life satisfied with having a roof on his or her head, a car to drive and food on his table. He or she lives on the level one of Maslow’s hierarchy of human’s needs. To them, life is not more than food and the body is not more than clothing. They are satisfied with low and unexcited life. This level of people never asks the most important question in life, ‘why am I here? What is God’s purpose for my life?

Conscious Unawareness Level: This is the stage a person realizes that there is more to his or her life than he or she is currently living it. This group knows that something somewhere is missing in their lives. The fat salary, the beautiful cars and the magnificent houses seem not to bring satisfaction to the vacuum destiny has created in their hearts. But they can’t lay hand on what it is. This person may change jobs severally hoping to find the treasure.

Unconscious Awareness Level: At this stage this person is aware of his or her destiny, but he  pushes it back to his or her unconscious mind. He rationalizes it with the statements of “I am too young” “I am too old” “It involves a lot of work” etc. This set of people is in the category of people deliberately running away from their destiny.

Conscious Awareness: These people have found out what it is. They have answered the Big question, “Why me?” They consciously surround themselves with the environment that daily reminds them of their destiny in life and set out in that direction.

These people have found their Eden, a place of rest. When you find your DESTINY, YOU HAVE FOUND ‘THAT THING.’
