Don’t Underestimate yourself; Release Your Ideas.

Don't Underestimate Yourself

Don’t Underestimate Yourself; Release Your Ideas

You are bigger than you think you are

—Felix A. Duyilemi

I remember many years ago when I used to belittle myself. My thought lines were along:

“I am not good enough.”

” I am not smart enough. ”

“I am not tall enough!”

“Who will read my books if I write books.”

I have those silly thoughts for a long while until I fired them all!

I gained my freedom from this limiting mindset in the year 2007 when I wrote my first book. I eventually did what I thought I couldn’t do.

It was liberating for me.

What was more liberating was the discovery that people need what I have. The book sold out within the first two years!

I received calls from far and wide from readers who were eager to tell me how my book changed their lives!

I was flabbergasted!

From that time on, I decided I will never place a limit on my ability. I will honour my talent and refuse to be apologetic for my personal greatness.

Perhaps, you are where I was a few years ago, and you are feeling incompetent or unfit to express the yearning in your heart. You can receive your freedom today.

Let me tell you this; you have what the world needs. And you will never know how far you can go, and how great you can become until you start.

Stop telling yourself what you can’t do, start doing what you know you can do.

Do you love to write? Write!

Ignore the false idea that nobody wants what you want to say.

Let nobody tell you you came too late and the market is already saturated.

About 3 years ago a reader of my blog wrote to me and said, “Today, I was thinking of committing suicide, I stumbled on your blog, and you saved my life.” Can anything beat that!

My blog saved a soul from early grave.

Never underestimate the impact of your ideas. Look at Facebook, Tittok, LinkedIn, Instagram, twitter, and other social media, they were mere ideas a few years ago.

Until 2004 nobody knew Facebook, today about 3 billion people are on Facebook! Talk of the power of an idea !

What would have happened if Mark Zuckerberg had allowed one silly thought to suffocate that powerful idea?

I don’t believe you are reading this by a coincidence, you are here at the right time. There is something in you. You have a message for this generation. Whatever it’s, bring it out.

Forget about perfection, produce now, perfect later.

Be comfortable with making mistakes.

Fail. Get up and keep going.

Your gifts get better with use.

Stop limiting yourself, let today be the first day you stop existing and start living!

5 Steps to Personal Transformation

Personal Transformation

5 Steps to Personal Transformation: Felix A. Duyilemi

Welcome to the University of Success. Today, we are looking at personal transformation.

Personal transformation is about bringing changes into your life in amazing ways.

Have you met some people, a few years ago, who were poor, timid, apprehensive, and uncertain about life, but today are ebullient, enthusiastic, radiant, and optimistic about life. What happened?

Personal transformation.

Those people re-engineer or reinvent their lives. Perhaps, they read a book, join a church, attend a seminar or visit a mentor or stumbled on a blog post like this, and everything started to change.

One good thing about life is a simple fact that your past doesn’t define your future.

You can change.

Your life can be transformed astronomically.

There is a process to it. And in this article, I will share with you 5 steps that can bring amazing personal transformation to your life. Let’s dive in.

1. Find A Purpose.

Perhaps, you have read the book, the Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. In the book, Rick Warren wrote that many people are driving by wrong reasons in life, and said the highest form of life is a life driven by a strong purpose.

In my book, “How to find your Life Purpose” I mentioned, ” Life can be boring… really boring until you discover your purpose for living.”

Myles Munroe said, “The purpose of life is living a life of purpose”

When you find your purpose, everything starts taking a new shape in your life. Your purpose redefines your core values, clarifies your vision, and creates a new association for you.

If you don’t know how to identify your purpose, read my book, “How to Find Your Life Purpose” there I shared 21 clues to discovering your purpose in life.

Don’t just live, start living for a purpose that is worth living for.

2. Have a New Set of Goals

Brian Tracy opined, “Life is goals, all else are commentary”

Your goals determine where you go. It determines how far you will go. It determines who to go with and when you will get there.

You can’t be bigger than the quality of your goals.

To transport your life, have goals for these key areas of your life:

√ Family

√ Spiritual

✓ Health

✓ Finance

✓ Social

✓ Legacy

As you set your goals, you also activate your inner success mechanism to help you achieve them.

Don’t worry if you think you don’t have what it takes to achieve them now, we GROW to meet our GOALS.

3. Relationships

Charles “Tremendous” Jones said, “You will be the same person in the next five years as you are today except for two things: the people you meet and the books you read”

I once heard that if you walk with 5 millionaires you will become the sixth. That is right, your association determines your assets.

Right people expand your views, motivate and inspire you and influence you to dream bigger.

Look for people going to where you intend to go and create a bond with them.

Delete wrong people from your life immediately.

4. Read books

I  wrote on my post about reading, “If you desire people to book for you, you have to read books.”

I owe most of my personal transformation to reading. You can hardly find me without books. Today, I have a library of books on my phone thanks to BOOKTERIA ( of course, all my books are also available on BOOKTERIA. )

Once, I was interviewed on national television on why I think people are not reading, I replied, “People are not reading because they are yet to discover the importance of reading. Once, they start seeing the importance of reading nothing will stop them from reading.”

Later I wrote on how to use your toilet time to read more books.

5. Daily Progress

People don’t change overnight, they change daily. Read books daily, pray daily, exercise daily, visualize daily, plan daily…

Mike Murdock said, “Your daily routine creates your destiny.”

Don’t plan to do great things someday, do small things in great ways daily.

PS: What are your thoughts? Which of these steps will you start implementing, today?

PPS: Here was the snippet of my interview on reading culture on galaxy tv.

How To Handle Rejections

How to handle REJECTIONS

How to handle REJECTIONS

No matter what people tell you, your words and ideas can change the world.” – Robin Williams

Rejection!

How does that word sound? I remember when my high school Mathematics teacher looked down on me, and disqualified me from participating in the major inter-school quiz competition.

I felt the pain. I looked stupid before my mate. And I vowed to become the best at Mathematics! Instead of turning her rejection to depression; I turned it to an inspiration that eventually made me  one of the best at Mathematics in our class.

From Albert Einstein to Oprah Winfrey to Les Brown to Billy Graham; great people are familiar with rejections.

Stephen King’s manuscript was rejected more than 30 times by different publishers. He almost gave up but for the encouragement of his wife. Today, Stephen has sold more than 350 million books!

Jack Canfied and Mark Victor Hansen’s Chicken Soup for the Soul was rejected 300 times by the publishers. Today, they have sold over 500 million copies of CSFS series!

Walt Disney the enigma behind Mickey Mouse and Disney world got 302 rejections before he received a yes.

Colonel Sanders the founder of KFC got 1009 Nos before he got a yes.

The list goes on…

These men and women rejected rejections, and that was why they succeeded.

“I take rejection as someone blowing a bugle in my ear to wake me up and get going, rather than retreat.”

– Sylvester Stallone

How you handle REJECTIONS matter. I have seen people who have refused to stand before people and speak because the first time they attempted to speak, they were laughed at. Some have refused to write or sing because of past rejections.

In this article, I will share with you three strategies to handling rejections:

1. Don’t Internalize it.

Rejection can disappoint you, depress you and may even stop you in your tracks… learn not to take rejection so personally… if you’re honest with yourself and believe in your work, others will too.

Bev Jozwiak

Never allow rejections to get into your heart. “Externalize” it, don’t internalize it. If you allow the words or thoughts to keep playing in your mind, you may become paralyzed and afraid to stand up and get on.

Never forget this: nothing outside of you has the power to stop you in life.

2. Keep Turning!

I once read that the formula for handling rejections is, SWSWSWSW. It means that if you go out with your ideas, Some Will buy it, Some Won’t, So What? Someone else’s Waiting!

I love the story of David in the Bible when he said he could kill Goliath, his brother, Eliab, called him names, “You this little brat!” But the Bible says , “David turned to another person, and he kept turning till he got the attention of King Saul.”

That is what you need to do. If one person rejects you, turn to another person, and keep turning!

3. Don’t Reject Yourself!

I heard that the first time Benjamin Disraeli first attempted to speak in the parliament, he was laughed to scorn. But he said, “You may laugh as much as you can, but one day you will watch me speak before the world.” ( Paraphrased)

I love to tell my audience in my live seminars, “If people reject you, don’t join them to reject yourself!”

If you failed, dust yourself up, remember the lessons ,forget the details, and keep on moving!

Always bear in mind that if you give yourself opportunity to learn, fail, relearn and keep learning, nothing can stop you in life.

Every rejection is incremental payment on your dues that in some ways will be translated back into your work.

James Lee Burke

10 PRINCIPLES OF HIGH FLYING ACHIEVERS. IF YOU LEARN THEM, YOU CAN BE ONE!

10 Principles of A High Flying Achiever

Anyone wants to be an achiever. Desire to be great is inborn in all of us. If you are reading this now, my instinct tells me that you desire to live beyond ordinary. I am pleased to tell you that your desire is noble and honorable. But desire alone is not enough. A story is told about a young man with a tremendous passion to be an achiever in life. He wanted to make his mark. So he decided to visit a man who the whole community recognized as a genius-a man with a wealth of experiences.

“What brings you to me?” the elderly man asked

“I want to become successful; I desire to be an achiever” Replied the young man

The old man smile and said, “That is very simple, all you need to do is to find out what successful people do, and replicate in your own life”

My assignment in this article is to help you organize a set of principles of high flying achievers; your assignment is to replicate it in your life.  The principles are as follows:

1. Know what you want.

This is the simplest but most powerful of all principles of high flying achievers, knowing what you want in life. You can’t go south travelling through North. You must be able to specify what you really want to do, be and have in life. Your vision is your picture of your future. Remember if you don’t have dreams, there will be no dreams to fulfill. James Allen strongly advised:

“Dream lofty dreams, and as you dream, so shall you become. Your vision is the promise of what you shall one day be; your Ideal is the prophecy of what you shall at last unveil.”

2. Know what you don’t Want.

Just as important as stating what you want out of life, you must be able to also know what you don’t want in life. Why? Because, life has no predetermined value on you except the once you either consciously or unconsciously place on yourself. You should be able to state what YOU WILL NOT ACCEPT IN LIFE NO MATTER THE CONDITION.

Jessie B. Rittenhouse writes:

“I bargained with Life for a penny, And Life would pay no more, however I begged at evening when I counted my scanty store.

“For Life is a just employer; He gives you what you ask, but once you have set the wages, why, you must bear the task.

“I worked for a menial’s hire, only to learn, dismayed, that any wage I had asked of Life, Life would have paid.”

3. Make Your Passion Your Work.

Job becomes fun when you are working on what you have passion for. Look around you the people who are truly fulfilled in life are people who have made their passion their job. Zig Ziglar Coaches, John.C Maxwell trains, Anthony Robbins motivates, Shakespeare writes, Messi plays football, Tiger wood plays golf…Success becomes fun when passion romances with work. When you find your passion, you won’t look for job.

4. Set Goals with  Deadline.

Goals determine how far you go. Human beings are goal seeking organism. We are built to function at our best when we have goals we are pursuing.  It is not good enough to say I want to become successful. In what? Where? When? Goals are not goals without a deadline.  It’s been said that “success is goals, and all else is commentary.”

5. Think Big.

What a man can conceive, he can achieve. So don’t place a limit on whom or what you can be by your thoughts. The limit to what you can achieve in life is limitless. So don’t play it small. Let your imagination roam wild. Let your imagination take you around the world. “Remember that the only limit to your capabilities is the one you place upon them. There is no law of limitation” Said Robert Collier.

6. Talk Big.

Your mouth rules your world. Whatever that is not bigger than your mouth is not bigger than your life. Words are capital. Start talking big; talk your way to stardom. People will gauge you by the strength of your words. I am not saying you should be proud or arrogant, the point I am making is to make your words consistent with the future you desire. E. W Kenyon noted: Your life rises or falls to the level of your confession.

7. Act Big

It is not enough to think or talk big; you must also begin to act big. Let your action be consistent with the picture of the future you have seen about yourself. For instance if you intend to become the President of your Country, start talking and acting like a President. If you intend to become a billionaire, start acting like one. Remember one of the ancient principles of success is “be-ing should precedes do-ing’. From today, irrespective of what you are, how you look, where you are coming from, starting acting your future not your past.

8. Welcome Feedback.

Feedback is a response that put us on the line in our journey to greatness. High achievers solicit for feedback,  honour and respect it. Don’t fight feedback; be humble so you don’t stumble.

9. Respect Your Words.

That is another way of defining integrity. Honesty is still the best policy. Make your words your boundary. Honour agreements. Be known as a straight forward person. Respect commitment. Remember the words of Marcus Antonius, “ Truth is always strong, no matter how weak it looks and falsehood is always weak no matter how strong it looks.”

10. Build Your Life around God.

It’s only a fool who thinks he doesn’t need the assistance of God, don’t be one. Let God help you. There is a reference in the Bible that states “In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path” God is the highest achiever, it’s wisdom if you make Him your intimate friend!

I hope these principles help you become a high flying achiever in your generation.
