Choose Your Thoughts…Choose Your Life
Choose Your Thoughts… Choose Your Life
As a man thinketh in his heart, so he is.
King Solomon
You can practically change your life when you understand how to think properly. I changed my life when I started thinking, “I am healthy. I am wealthy. I am successful. I am prosperous!” Even when my situation was directly opposite of what I was thinking. I persisted. I thought differently. I became different. I am practically today what my thoughts have made me!
Your thinking shapes your behaviour, your behaviour shapes your action and your action shapes your results!
In my interactions with people as a Coach, I found out that many people don’t understand the role their thoughts play in their lives. They want new results but they keep thinking the old thoughts.
James Allen wrote in “As a Man Thinketh” in 1903, “A man is literally what he thinks, his character being the complete sum of all his thoughts. A person is limited only by the thoughts that he chooses.”
He continued, “A man only begins to be a man when he ceases to whine and revile, and commences to search for the hidden justice which regulates his life. And he adapts his mind to that regulating factor, he ceases to accuse others as the cause of his condition, and builds himself up in strong and noble thoughts; ceases to kick against circumstances, but begins to use them as aids to his more rapid progress, and as a means of the hidden powers and possibilities within himself.”
In this article, I want to show you how to use your thoughts to change your life. Once you understand this, you hold the key to your future in your hands.
PAY Attention to What You Pay Attention To
Do you wake up in the morning and listen to all the negative news around the world? Do you keep absorbing junk all day long? You see, what you allow into your mind will go deep into your subconscious mind and start influencing your decisions, feelings, and actions unconsciously.
This is why I tell my Clients “Pay attention to what you pay attention to. ” King Solomon reputed to be the wisest King who ever graced the earth said, “Guard your heart with all diligence, from out of it proceed the issues of your life.”
The responsibility to watch what seeps into your subconscious mind is your greatest responsibility to yourself. Nobody can play this role for you. Every day we are bombarded with all kinds of negative stimuli, people want to drag you into their drama…but you can choose where and what you pay attention to.
Yesterday while watching a movie and I saw the direction the movie was going, I quickly switched to another channel. Why? Because your mind records impressions from movies even if you don’t take them seriously. Your subconscious mind doesn’t recognize a joke.
Choose Your Focus
You can choose to focus on all the negative things going on in the world or in your life or choose to focus on the positives. Remember, many wonderful things are happening daily as well as many negative things. Unfortunately, Newspapers and Media houses choose to report the negatives than they do the positives.
Right now, I can bet, many fantastic things are going on in your life right now! A lot of people in prison or hospital beds will like to trade places with you right now!
If you are reading this now, it shows your heart is still beating. Be grateful you are still alive because if you are still alive you can expect a miracle. If you are still alive you can make new decisions. If you are alive you can recover your past losses. If you are alive you can make new friends. If you are alive you can pay off your debts and become financially free!
So, be grateful that you are still here, and can read this article!
If you look for the positives, for the things to be grateful for you will find them.
Roy T. Bennett said, “Focus on your strength, not your weaknesses. Focus on your character, not your reputation. Focus on your blessings, not your misfortunes.”
Choose Your Thoughts
For a long time, I never realized that I have the power to choose my thoughts. I thought I had no power over my thoughts. But I do. You do. You can choose your thoughts. Some unenlightened people think that our experiences create our thoughts but the truth is our thoughts create our experiences.
Therefore, if you can choose your thoughts, you can create new experiences. If for instance, you have no money. Put simply, if you are broke, you can choose to think, “Poor me! I am always broke. I never have luck with money.” That is thinking based on your experience. What this will do is you are going to keep having the same experience.
You can’t think lack and expect abundance. But despite the situation you may be in now, if you choose to think abundance, you are going to have new experiences. Your financial situation will change when you change your habitual thoughts about money.
So, choose your thoughts.
Think health.
Think wealth.
Think success.
Think prosperity.
See only health, wealth, success, and abundance. Any idea you entertain in your mind will become an experience in your life.
Never give your power to your past. Don’t give your power to your current reality. Focus on what you want to see, where you want to go, and what you want to become.
We don’t fix our situations, we fix our thoughts and our thoughts fix our Situations.
When you learn to master this principle, you will experience a tremendous change in your life!
“The only time you fail is when you fall down and stay down.” Stephen Richards.
“Cherish your visions.
Cherish your ideals.
Cherish the music that stirs in your heart, the beauty that forms in your mind, the loveliness that drapes your purest thoughts.
For out of them will grow all delightful conditions, all heavenly environment, of these, if you but remain true to them, your world will, at last, be built.” James Allen.
