Take Off The Limits!
"Moderation is a fatal thing, nothing succeeds like excess"
Oscar Wilde
What will you do if there is 100% guarantee of success? Where will you go if you have the means to travel anywhere of your choice? If money, education, connection, etc are not your problems, what will you like to be, do and have?
How far we go in life is how far we think we can go. There are no real limitations in life except the ones we have either consciously or unconsciously built in our imagination. Life offers us a blank check!
Jessie B. Rittenhouse writes:
“I bargained with Life for a penny, And Life would pay no more, however I begged at evening when I counted my scanty store.
“For Life is a just employer; He gives you what you ask, but once you have set the wages, why, you must bear the task.
“I worked for a menial’s hire, only to learn, dismayed, that any wage I had asked of Life, Life would have paid.”
Life is a just employer; it gives you just what you ask.
It reminds me of a story I once read about a man and his young son walking along a mountainous path, the boy slipped and called out
“Somebody, help me”
A voice called back “Somebody, help me”
The young boy was surprised and confused. He said, “ Who are you?”
The voice shouted back, “Who are you?”
The boy, a little bit worried, said, “You are a coward”
The voice replied, “You are a coward”
The boy trying to exhibit a bit of naivety, shouted, “ You are a fool”
The voice repeated, “You are a fool”
At this point his father reached out to help him. The boy asked the father, “Dad, who is that?”
The boy’s father gently instructed him “It is called echo, it sends back the vibration of your words, but it is also true of life, life gives you exactly what you give to it”
The father now said, “Son let me now show you something”
The father shouted, “You are a winner!”
The voice replied, “You are a winner!”
The father again shouted, “You have got what it takes!”
The voice shouted back, “You have got what it takes!”
The father boomed, “You can make it!”
The voice reverberated, “You can make it!”
Leaning on the youngster, the father said, “Son, that is exactly how life is. Whatever you send out always comes back to you”
The moral of this story is self-evident. If you say to life, I am a failure; life will tell you that you are a failure. If you tell life, “You are a success, life will echo back to you, you are a success” So be careful of the vibrations of words and thoughts you are sending out to life.
Emerson carefully crafted it, “Be careful of what you want because you will get it”If you want success, you will have itIf you want happiness, health, prosperity, you will get them.It is also true that if you want nothing, you will also get nothing.“Impossible” said Napoleon “is the adjective of fools”
In the past, you have limited yourself by the way you think. You have thought that you are of a wrong height, wrong race, wrong personality, inadequate education, not too smart, you cannot do this, you are too old, you are too young and all the limiting thoughts. You can start thinking differently. Set yourself free! Give yourself permission to dream. The only limit to what you can be, do and have is your supposed limits. Don’t walk through life as if you are on a loan.
Believe you have right to life, right to be all that God has created you to be. You have right to the good of life; right to health, happiness and wealth. Take the limits off. “Don’t be a niggard with yourself. Don’t sell yourself for a penny. Whatever price you set upon yourself, life will give.
So aim high. Demand much! Make a clear, distinct mental image of what it is you want. Hold it in your thought. Visualize it, see it, and believe it! The ways and means of satisfying that desire will follow. For supply always comes on the heels of demand.” Said Robert Collier
